Willie Piispanen is the senior director of environmental safety and health (ES&H) for URS Corporation. He is responsible for corporate issues related to industrial hygiene, ergonomics, indoor air quality, employee medical surveillance, hazardous waste training, and environmental compliance.
Mr. Piispanen currently maintains professional certifications as a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, and Certified Ergonomic Associate. During his career Eric has been responsible for assisting businesses in the Chelan County area in developing disaster response / emergency preparedness plans. He was instrumental in the development of Chelan County’s hazardous materials emergency response plan, trained public safety in hazardous materials response and was part of the hazmat team. Eric was also responsible for the development of the Chelan County comprehensive emergency management plan, during his time with Chelan County. He has also developed and wrote comprehensive safety programs in several subjects including: accident prevention, hazardous materials handling, hazardous materials emergency response actions, construction safety, confined space entry and rescue, fall protection, safety committee rules, personal protective equipment, emergency disaster preparedness plans and confined space entry and non-entry rescue. Eric has been a presenter and speaker at several conferences including the Washington State Governor’s Safety Conference, National Safety Councils Congress and the Evergreen Rural Water Association annual conference. Eric is an approved Flagger and Traffic Control Supervisor trainer in both ID and WA.
Eric is also a veteran serving from 1972 to 1975 as a Military Policeman and investigator.

Robert “Bob” Topping dedicates his practice to strategic workforce talent development, succession planning, and industry-driven training. His Doctoral dissertation addresses state-of-the-art designs for workplace learning, career education, and workforce talent development. Within his dissertation, he focused on the role of higher education in learning processes, design features, and major issues that affect talent development and succession planning. With that as a foundation, he has done major strategic workforce and succession planning for a variety of organizations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. Most recently, he was a key in proposing 21st century workforce initiatives for regional economic development in the Oregon’s Mid-Willamette Valley. Dr. Topping was instrumental in a project focusing on the redesign of the Utah education system. This work was done in collaboration with industry, state, government and education representatives. Dr. Topping has worked to develop, organize, and implement multiple broad-based workforce initiatives, two of which were awarded a “Center of Excellence” recognition.
Dr. Topping is currently the Director, for Industry Based Strategies at Chemeketa Community College, Center for Business and Industry, in Salem, Oregon. He has served higher education as an Executive Director, Campus Administrator and Department Chair. Through effective collaboration and strategic partnerships, Dr. Topping has been instrumental in connecting Career and Technical Education (CTE) to industry, advancing student enrollment and developing innovative training models all of which have received national attention.
Beyond his 18 years of experience at the collegiate level, he brings 22 years of hands-on-experience in the construction industry. During this time in his career, he held a variety positions from apprentice to Field Superintendent culminating in a Project Manager role for multiple complex projects. |

Greg is currently assigned to the CWI-WGI Integrated Waste Treatment Unit (IWTU) project in eastern Idaho. IWTU is a $500 Million nuclear waste treatment project that will remove and stabilized radioactive waste currently stored above the Snake River plain aquifer. Responsibilities include safety and health oversight of the project as well as assuring a seamless transition from the construction phase to the plant’s operational phase.>Greg has managed safety and health programs for rail transportation, government and private entities, and designed several products for the safety industry. His specialty areas include human performance in safety systems, event investigation, and cause analysis. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Idaho with emphasis in the areas of Systems Engineering and Organizational Behavior.

Brad Whitworth, MS, is a District Health and Safety Manager for United Parcel Service in the Great Basin District (The Great Basin District is comprised of Utah, Idaho and Nevada) He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Boise State University and a Master of Science in Safety Engineering from Kennedy Western University.
Brad has spent 16 of 25 years at UPS in the field of health and safety. As a Region CHSP Manager over 16 states and as a Corporate CHSP Manager in Atlanta, GA. he has spearheaded work and development with UPS’ CHSP program (Comprehensive Health and Safety Process). CHSP is UPS’ innovative and sweeping approach to employee and management partnership in promoting health, safety and wellness in the workplace and the community. The implementation of the Comprehensive Health & Safety Process at UPS has reduced lost workdays due to injuries by over 60 percent over the last five years. All other safety indices including lost-time injuries, OSHA recordable and auto accident frequencies have also been significantly reduced.
Brad has facilitated safety classes in every UPS Region in the United States as well as taking part in bringing the UPS approach to safety in Singapore and Shanghai, China.
Brad has been a member of the American Society of Safety Engineer since 1997.
